Covenant’s Interim Senior Pastor

Introducing Sandy Willson, Our Interim Senior Pastor

A Message from Our Session and Interim Pastor Search Team

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On Sunday evening our Interim Pastor Search Team recommended that our Session extend a call to Rev. Sandy Willson to serve as Interim Senior Pastor at Covenant. It is with great joy that we announce that our Session unanimously and enthusiastically approved the recommendation and Sandy has accepted the call. Sandy plans to begin his ministry with us on October 15, 2017, subject to formal approval by Evangel Presbytery which we certainly anticipate will be forthcoming.

Sandy is gifted in so many ways, and we are incredibly thankful to the Lord for placing him in our path at this time. He served as Senior Pastor of Second Presbyterian Church (EPC) for the past 22 years before retiring 5 months ago. Prior to that, Sandy served as Senior Pastor at two other PCA churches, Memorial Presbyterian Church (Elizabethton, TN) and Lookout Mountain Presbyterian (Lookout Mountain, TN). He and wife Allison have been married since 1972, and they have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

Here is a brief word from Sandy:

Dear Covenant family,

It is with great joy that Allison and I accept the call from the Covenant Session to come serve the church beginning October 15, contingent upon the approval of Evangel Presbytery. We are excited to be part of your great family, to worship the Lord with you, and to serve in His mission together. We look forward to getting to know you in the days ahead and shall be in prayer for God to bless this important season in Covenant's life. We would cherish your prayers for us and for Covenant Presbyterian—that we would all please the Lord in every way.

With eager anticipation,
Sandy Willson

Please be in prayer for Sandy and Allison and our church family as we enter into this new season together.

Grace and Peace,
The Session and Interim Pastor Search Team
