Three year vision plan • January 2010 – December 2012
New Pastor –
Remaining mindful that we are totally reliant on the Lord to bring us
CPC’s new Senior Pastor, the Pulpit Committee will prayerfully and
diligently work towards having a new senior pastor in place by the
summer of 2011.
Communication – The Session and the Pulpit Committee
will provide regular communication to the congregation throughout the
transition period regarding the status of the work of the Pulpit
Committee and ongoing ministries.
Growth – By the end of the
transition, CPC will strive to average 1,000-plus in worship attendance,
along with measurable growth in membership (both new members and member
retention), visitor attendance, Sunday School attendance, small group
involvement,short-term missions participation and evangelistic efforts
and activities.
Prayer – CPC will maintain and build the Prayer
Ministry throughout the transition period. This will be confirmed by
growth in participation by men and women in the Hedge Ministry, as well
as weekly and periodic prayer opportunities for the church at large.n
Financial – By the end of the transition period, CPC will prayerfully
look to God to increase giving to the General Fund by 5% annually and
Faith Promise by 10% annually. CPC will also have pledges in place to
retire all existing debt.
Shepherding – The Session is committed to the
continued shepherding of our members. The Session shall provide ongoing
training and will implement measurable shepherding objectives by
December 31, 2010.
Ministries Plan – The Pastoral Staff will work with
the Session to review and revise our written comprehensive ministry
plan. This plan will include the maintenance and expansion of current
ministries and development of new ministry initiatives to meet the needs
of our church family, our community and the world.
Staff – The Session
believes that the retention of the current staff is in the best
interest of CPC to ensure stability, and therefore indicates its support
for their continued ministry at CPC during and after the transition
period.
